Steve TourignyHello Sandy & Frank, I was amazed that I actually did remember each of you (even before seeing the pictures!). I am not so sure I could identify 25% of us after 25 years. It's hard to imagine the time has flown by so fast... Since I am only 10% certain I'll be on the East Coast for the reunion I will give you a brief update. Feel free to share in any format. I have lived in Folsom California since 1990 along with my wife Kathleen and two daughters Lauren (19) and Brennagh (16). After WPI, I joined Norton Company for ~8 years (Worcester, MA; Huntsville, AL; Northborough, MA), then did a short stint as a technical recruiter (Source Engineering) and have spent the last ~16+ years in the semiconductor equipment industry. Since relocating to California, I have been with EBARA Technologies Inc. (ebaratech.com) where we design and sell vacuum process equipment for semiconductor manufacturing. While our girls were born in Massachusetts, they have truly become Californians (though they do like to get back East and visit cousins and grandparents), enjoying the sun, swimming, water polo, crew, music, boys, etc... Generally keeping mom & dad on their toes. While not tending our daughters or attending school/sports functions, Kathleen and I enjoy gardening (grapes, tomatoes, peppers, etc...) and both serve on a non-profit organization in Oregon that helps teens and individuals attend an impressive collection of personal development programs (see http://www.wings-seminars.com/). I have attached a couple of current pictures. One is a family shot from a Maui vacation in 2002. The other is a photo of one of the "senior" ice hockey teams I played on last summer (I am the goalkeeper). Even 12 years in California could not break my French Canadian roots (or my accent for that "matta"). This year I will be playing in Charles Shultz's 32nd Annual Snoopy Senior Men's Ice Hockey Tournament. Over 50 teams (~600 players, 40 years and over) from 4+ countries gathering in Santa Rosa for a week in July. I will be playing goal for a team from Vancouver, BC for a second year. A great group of guys. By the way, the oldest team last year was 75 and over, although I really cannot imagine playing this game for 30 more years. Looks like I may have to give in and take up golf! I do get back east a couple times a year and had dinner with my mum at the Sole Proprietor in March. I noticed many changes in the area, most of them positive. There seemed to be a lot of renovation and renewal of old homes and buildings in the area. It is amazing the fond connection I feel with that part of Worcester, even after having lived away for so many years. Hope you all have a great time and enjoy the reunion. Best Regards, Steve Tourigny P.S. Oh yeah, say hello to any "Kap's" for me. I am sure you will see Dean Arvidson and perhaps Louis Pelletier.sptourigny@hotmail.com 264 River Ridge Way Folsom, CA 95630 916-987-8099 sptourigny@ebaratech.com Vice President Operations EBARA Technologies Inc 51 Main Avenue Sacramento, CA 95838 916-996-7509 |
